It’s just numbers. Alhamdullilah, reached 6 series today. Lockdown birthday: banyak2 syukur 🙏🏼.

Happened to be sorting out old photos tonight… Found some from 50+ years ago, including from my birthday party at 7 years old in 1968 😊. Also the 50th birthday, a football themed surprise party (how the kids have grown in the ten years hence!). Had to make a quick speech… And I think I blurted out that “At 50, you have lived long enough to know a few things, and yet InsyaAllah you still have some time to complete whatever else you need to do, including correcting your mistakes”.

I must say that at 60, I would still hold to that, with … the added emphasis that the runway is naturally shorter of course!

“By Time (and the declining day), Verily, Man is in a state of loss. Save those who believe and do good deeds, and enjoin one another to truth and enjoin one another to patience and constancy”. (Al-Asr 103:1-3). The joint shortest surah, but one of the most complete. Imam Shafi remarked that had nothing else been revealed, these 3 verses of the 103rd surah would have sufficed. ⚖️🙏🏼🤲🏼

A lockdown birthday, with no visitors except for this gentleman who is everywhere 😂

Thanks so much to @masrahman and the kiddos for the most thoughtful bestest ever birthday gifts… The beautiful model of a 60 year journey put together as a train set (by my super talented sister, done like a hantaran kahwin), a 16-foot family tree (and that’s just first cousins) done by Mas with so much research using a family tree app and, most of all, a 44 minute video (tq Alia!) of photos, music and messages from friends and family from all over the world. And to the thoughtful wishes, gifts and food recieved from friends and family. So heartfelt, MasyaAllah tqvm jzkk ❣️☺️🙏🏼.
