77 Trains BC … 14th July 2020, the first anniversary of the start of Kembara Kretapi 2019. Celebrated the milestone through a virtual event by Zoom with a group of 30+ Kembara kakis! , consisting of the KK 2019 crew and friends some of whom who joined us on the 22 countries, 77 days, 77 trains journey.

Also finally soft launched the website to house the various postings and writings, mostly but not exclusively on IG. Also expanded the website to include content from my sabbatical work at Cambridge and other places. Still a WIP and a private website for now, but it’s nice to see the content in more organized and digital form.

Tqvm once again everyone, including friends who joined from the East and West Coast of the US, the UK and variously from Penang, Langkawi, Kelantan, Johor and of course the Klang Valley. InsyaAllah will develop the website further and gradually release it.

A year on, still absorbing the rhythm, sights, sounds and learnings from this train journey that took almost 40 years of dreaming and planning. Alhamdullilah, as has been pointed out, this travel of 77 trains over 77 days BC is such a privilege in this time of Corona. Syukur and much thanks and appreciation to the support and kindness of so many. 🙏🏼🎈❤️🔮🚂
