Syukur alhamdullilah, it is with much joy and gratitude that our daughter, Sakinah Azman married the love of her life, Christopher, at a small ceremony at Masjid Sg Ramal Luar, Kajang on the afternoon of 10.10.2020.

Due to the uncertain Covid 19 situation this week, we postponed even our very scaled down wedding reception plans for this evening. While we had wished otherwise, alhamdullilah it turned out to be an unusually intimate wedding, beautiful and joyous nonetheless.

وَمِنْ آيَاتِهِ أَنْ خَلَقَ لَكُم مِّنْ أَنفُسِكُمْ أَزْوَاجًا لِّتَسْكُنُوا إِلَيْهَا وَجَعَلَ بَيْنَكُم مَّوَدَّةً وَرَحْمَةً إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ

And among His Signs is this, that He created for you wives from among yourselves, that you may find tranquility in them, and He has put between you love and mercy. Verily, in that are indeed signs for a people who reflect.
(Ar-Room, 30:21).

Sakinah is our firstborn, we named her as such as a prayer that she may lead a righteous and tranquil life InsyaAllah. There are many verses in the holy Quran that extols the sacredness of the institution of marriage, but a personal favorite is this beautiful verse from Ar-Room. Indeed, we note the serendipity that Tranquility (As-Sakinah) is one of the essence of marriage, along with love and mercy. InsyaAllah 🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼
